Design & consultancy

Heat network design and consultancy that works beyond practical completion

We help clients plan, procure, deliver, and optimise communal and district heat networks that are technically robust, commercially viable, and designed for long-term performance.

Our advice is shaped by decades of hands-on experience across network design, equipment supply, project delivery, and live operation. We assess not only whether a scheme can be built, but whether it will operate efficiently, remain maintainable throughout its lifecycle, and deliver reliable heat to the people who depend on it.

Heatiliti provides objective, technically informed, whole-life network advice. Because our team has designed, installed, and operated the systems we advise on, our recommendations are based on how a network will perform in practice, not simply how it appears on paper.

Why Heatiliti

Most heat network consultancies advise from the outside looking in. Heatiliti’s team has designed heat networks, supplied the equipment that goes into them, delivered projects on site, and operated networks after residents have moved in. That whole-value-chain experience allows us to identify the operational and commercial implications of design decisions before construction begins, rather than after a network starts underperforming.

Relevant experience

Heatiliti’s leadership team has experience developing, technically supporting, and delivering major heat network optimisation and Energy Performance Contract programmes. This includes multi-site upgrades to controls, hydraulics and energy centre infrastructure across thousands of homes, and structuring long-term ESCo contracts for new-build developments.

FAQs

What stage can Heatiliti get involved at?

Heatiliti can support projects at any stage, from early feasibility and option appraisal through to RIBA Stage 7 handover review, or by carrying out technical health checks on existing operational networks.

Is Heatiliti an independent consultant?

Heatiliti provides objective, technically informed, whole-life advice. Because our team also designs, delivers and operates heat networks, our recommendations are grounded in practical, operational experience rather than a purely advisory perspective.

Can Heatiliti help with funding applications?

Yes. We support clients with Heat Network Efficiency Scheme (HNES), Heat Network Technical Assurance Scheme (HNTAS) readiness assessments, and Green Heat Network Fund (GHNF) applications, together with the technical evidence required to support successful submissions.
