Mechanical & Electrical (M&E)
M&E delivery for heat networks – from energy centre to end user.
Heatiliti is directly contracted as principal M&E designer and installer for communal and district heat network projects across the UK.
We design, install and commission the mechanical, electrical, controls and commissioning packages that turn a heat-network design into a safe, efficient and maintainable operating system - coordinating every critical interface between generation, distribution, controls and customer systems.
What we deliver
Energy centres and low-carbon plant, including heat pumps
Building and district substations, with hydraulic separation and network interfaces
District and communal distribution pipework
Plantrooms and packaged plant
Heat Interface Units (HIUs) and dwelling secondary systems
Thermal storage
Electrical distribution, controls, containment and cabling
Metering and communications infrastructure
Testing, commissioning and handover
Refurbishment, retrofit and remedial works on existing systems
How we work
As principal M&E designer and installer, Heatiliti holds direct responsibility for delivery - designing and installing the mechanical, electrical and controls scope, and coordinating the specialist civils, trenching and buried-pipework packages that connect an energy centre to every building it serves. There are no project-size, technology or sector limits on the projects we take on, from single-building schemes to multi-plot developments.
Why Heatiliti
Delivering M&E for a heat network is not the same as delivering it for a single building - every interface between generation, distribution, controls and the end customer has to work together, for decades, not just at handover. Our teams design, install and commission energy centres, substations and HIUs as a connected system, so the network that gets handed over performs the way it was designed to.
FAQs
What types of heat network project does Heatiliti deliver M&E for?
Everything from single energy centres and substations serving a small number of homes to large, multi-plot district heating schemes - there are no project-size or sector limits.
Do you handle civils and buried pipework directly?
We coordinate civils, trenching, pre-insulated buried pipework and reinstatement packages as part of the overall delivery, working alongside specialist civils contractors.
Can Heatiliti design and install low-carbon generation, such as heat pumps?
Yes. Our M&E scope includes low-carbon plant and heat pumps alongside conventional energy-centre equipment.
Do you carry out remedial works on existing, already-installed systems?
Yes, alongside new-build delivery, we undertake refurbishment, retrofit and remedial M&E works on live heat networks.
